Press Releases International Quarrying & Recycling Show Hillhead 2003 Flender Stand 105a-106 - Better Performance Than Ever From Motox Geared Motors
Latest to join the Flender stable are eff1 high efficiency units, which complement Flender's eff2 rated units, and which are proving increasingly popular with companies keen to comply with the recently introduced Climate Change Levy (CCL). In the UK Flender is selling many more eff1 units than it was 12 months ago, and the company has identified an interesting fact when comparing the UK with the rest of Europe. In countries like Germany, France and Italy, where the CCL has not yet been rigidly enforced through penalties or incentives, companies have continued to specify lower efficiency eff2 units, and in these countries eff1 sales are much slower. A recent CEMAP survey showed eff2 sales at 80% and eff1 sales at 20%. Of this latter figure, Flender believes most are being sold in the UK. This means UK industry is already surging ahead when making efficiency improvements, as Flender's Paul Dudley observes: "In the UK the end user is driving sales of eff1; over half our sales are via this type of customer. With OEMs it's much less, unless actually specified by the end user." Flender's stand at Hillhead also features a newly upgraded Motox Master range of motor integrated frequency inverters featuring the latest Siemens technology. These now save labour/installation time and hardware space through being fully integrated, self-cooling and able to operate in temperatures from -10°C to +40°C, with enclosure ratings to IP 66.
