Our History
Flender was founded in Düsseldorf in Germany in 1899, originally manufacturing wooden pulleys. During the 1920s, the company switched to producing gear units, couplings and clutches, and launched the world's first variable speed gear unit in 1927. Today, Flender has more than 60 sales offices around the world and employs around 7,500 people.
Flender in the UK
In the UK, where we employ over 50 people, we manufacture and service large scale power transmission products and compact, 'off the shelf' power units. All product design, customer service and after sales service is handled by highly trained and knowledgeable staff based in Bradford.
