Condition Monitoring is a Flender Service Speciality
Expensive plant breakdowns and unnecessary component replacements are things of the past when you use Flender Service and its GearController systems.
Breakdowns can occur at any time without prior warning, and can be prevented by using the Flender Diagnostic Service. Flender service engineers monitor conditions and possible damage in drives, thereby offering customers reliability and availability within their own plant.
Flender service personnel are qualified in many disciplines of power transmission, and have the technical capabilities to recognise potential gearbox damage at a very early stage. Genuine Flender spares are then manufactured according to original specifications, repairs prepared for and carried out on a worldwide basis.
Condition monitoring is a Flender Service speciality. By using the GearController system information is collected about the operating and running conditions of gear units and rotating machines, and variations in vibration behaviour identified over a period of time.
Predictive Maintenance
Based on results, the ultra-modern analysers also permit the implementation of condition-oriented, predictive maintenance programmes. This early diagnosis avoids secondary damage to other vital and expensive components.
As ongoing analysis is carried out while the plant is operating, there is no need for time- and cost-consuming dismantling, thereby enhancing plant availability and preventing production loss.
Remote access to stationary GearController systems is possible via the Internet, while communication channels like phone, RF and satellite allow drive systems to be monitored at all times, anywhere. Maintenance and repairs can then be carried out when signs of defects have been diagnosed.
Flender's condition monitoring service team is based in Bradford, with extensive experience in the field and the capability to carry out all necessary repairs and maintenance anywhere in the world. Worldwide monitoring of plant condition and telediagnosing is based on maintenance agreements and these agreements can be made for the systems of any manufacturer, not just Flender's own drive and gear units
The Flender condition monitoring service for power transmission systems covers:
- - analyses of static and dynamic loads and stresses
- - analyses of drive transmissions by vibrations
- - analyses of the working condition of the drive system
- - detailed analyses of noise, temperature and visual checks, particularly in relation to gear units
- - discussions, reporting and recommendations.
